Mark grew up in Scarborough, ON where he started piano and voice lessons at a local music school at the age of seven.  Upon graduating high school, Mark pursued a degree in Music Education from the University of Toronto majoring in Piano with a focus on Choral Conducting, completing his degree in 2009.  Since then, Mark has held several conducting positions with church and community choirs across the GTA.  Outside of Music, Mark works in the veterinary industry working in operations and people management, and resides in Ajax with his partner and fur babies. 

Alicia Gauvreau

Alicia Gauvreau is an Ajax-based music educator and also a Young Singers alumni.  She completed her Honours Bachelor of Music Education at Laurier University in Waterloo. She later continued her studies at OISE at the University of Toronto where she completed her Master of Teaching.  During this time she won a conducting internship with Young Voices Toronto and continued this work throughout the pandemic. Alicia is excited to join the Young Singers family as an assistant director. She looks forward to passing on her love for music, while also helping young singers develop important skills to navigate their lives.

Lori LaFrance currently serves as a primary music educator for the Durham District School Board. With a background in music education from the Royal Conservatory of Music, she holds a BA in Early Childhood Education and a BEd from the University of Toronto. Lori has been conducting adult and children’s choirs in the church community since 1993. As a RECE and a member of the Early Childhood Music Association, Lori is dedicated to play-based learning, integrating music and movement to instill a passion for music from an early age. Married for over 30 years, Lori is also a mother to six children, all now Young Singers alumni!
